where do they all belong?

i looked up and saw loneliness..

i saw it in the girl wearing chagrin like a badge and punching at little things that hang in the air like tail ends of lullabies.

i saw it in the girl using sex like a fishing lure. as though being able to titillate a man was any great feat or a triumph worthy of the effort. surely there must be more to you than your need for attention? and a better way to get it, if that's all there is.

i saw it in the girl determined to be honest against all odds as though losing her grip for an instant would see her shatter like a crystal star against the night sky.

i saw it in the man who thinks his way through life as though one day, one day, when the stench of his fearfulness is covered in answers he will know... anything.

i saw it in the written and most of all in the still to be penned.

if loneliness is feeling like you sometimes cannot relate to the world, then i, too, am lonely. if it means whoring who i am for a little attention, then loneliness may be the only feeling i have ever escaped.

you are all worth so much more.

namaste.

we really do suffer things for those who are worth it. tell me, do they even know? or do we love from a distance, where it is the safest to love?

I'm not so sure that loneliness is
something that one can (or should)
run from. It's for loneliness to do
the running, or, for us to find the
people or things worth running-
or crawling- toward. Beautifully
done!

i like this paragraph
this contemplation
this acceptance
this revelation

something ive been talking about with my Novel clas this quarter is the acceptance of our shadow and embracing the self as a whole instead of a duality and how
only through this act do we reach a place of transcendance
a place of peace

we just finished reading shellys frankenstein

and we have also been reading joshep campbells the power of myth with bill moyers.

hey trans> yes we do suffer things for those we love and that is absolutely the right thing to do. others also suffer things for us out of love. time. money. self-indulgence. apathy etc we give these over for a greater good. but what i was talking about here was not that. those who love you will not ask you to sell out who you are to gain their love BUT they do..all the time. so i think self-protection is necessary. i think some of those we love, know what we sacrifice and some never do. but recognition should not be the reason why we do it. distrust is a feature of our own insecurity, nothing else.

grumb> totally agree. those who are worth what we wish to offer should get it. some people never even get that far.

blue athena> thank you, nice to see you here!

steve> thank YOU steve. missed you.

camera shy> interesting topic. i bet you're a great teacher. i think accepting the whole self is easy and hard all rolled into one depending on the perspective at the time.

Loneliness...
How is it that we can feel so alone, even in the midst of people who crowd our coming and goings.
I....was lonely, when I thought you had gone...
